New Jersey Unemployment Notice Requirements

New Jersey employers must now provide separated employees, as well as the NJ Department of Labor and Workforce Development (LWD), a separation notice that includes enough information for the state to make an unemployment benefit determination. The LWD has issued FAQs regarding this, as well as other changes to the unemployment compensation laws. The LWD also states that additional guidance on electronic submission of employee separation, as well as a new separation notice, is forthcoming.
