May 2024: Charitable Donation Recipients

The Charitable Donation Committee met in May and voted to give funds to the following organizations and events.

At our quarterly gatherings, the Charitable Donation Committee reviews and assesses all donation requests directed to Adams Keegan. The committee comprises staff members nominated by their peers for “Employee of the Year” in our quarterly TEAM Awards. Alongside gathering contributions from employees for non-profits they support, the committee also evaluates requests from external entities.

We are delighted to announce that the Adams Keegan Charitable Donation Committee has chosen the following organizations to be recipients for funding in the second quarter of 2024.

Code Crew is changing Memphis with initiatives that focus on ensuring students are taught the principles of information and computation, how digital systems work, and learning how to put this knowledge to use through programming and software development concepts. CodeCrew projects include multiple summer camps, after school programs, in-school electives classes, internships and special events. They have taught more than 11,800 students to code since May of 2015. Adams Keegan was able to sponsor Code Crew’s ExCITE Awards, which took place on May 2, spotlighting and honoring individuals and companies throughout the United States for their excellence in computation, information, technology, and engineering.

Junior Achievement (JA) of Memphis and the Mid-South has been dedicated to educating students about entrepreneurship, work-readiness, and financial literacy since 1955. More than 20,000 students participate in the JA initiatives each year throughout the greater Memphis area. Their programs are taught by volunteers from all walks of life, including business people, college students, parents, and retirees. Adams Keegan had the honor of sponsoring the JA Inspire event, a hands-on career expo for 8th Grade Students from May 14 to May 16.

Crossroads Campus, located in Nashville, transforms lives by creating opportunities for individuals facing poverty and homelessness to care for homeless dogs and cats. They provide paid job training in pet-related careers, affordable housing, and social-emotional support systems. Crossroads just opened a new building that includes affordable housing for young adults. They also offer certified dog grooming training opportunities to youth looking for an alternate career path. Our Nashville team was able to hand deliver a check to Crossroads and they were incredibly thankful.

Adams Keegan is proud to support these inspiring organizations.
