January 2023: Charitable Donation Committee Meets, Selects Recipients
Bunny Run, DeSoto Hope, HOPE House among those chosen by Charitable Donation Committee.
With the New Year in full swing, we’re pleased to announce that Adams Keegan’s Charitable Donation Committee has voted to give funds to the following organizations.
SRVS Bunny Run 5K: SRVS (“serves”) is a disability support organization located in Memphis. Their annual Bunny Run 5K race is happening on April 1 this year, and it benefits SRVS Kids, which provides family-centered services that address the unique abilities of children with special needs. These include pediatric therapies, developmental training, an inclusive preschool, and early on parent and child classes.
DeSoto Hope: This nonprofit organization benefits North Mississippi residents with cancer, by furnishing “Hope Baskets,” given free of charge and containing items to help make cancer treatments more bearable. They deliver to the patient’s doorstep, or to various cancer facilities in Desoto County.
CMOM After Dark: Hope House Memphis supports individuals and families in Memphis affected by HIV, including through free testing, daycare services, trauma support, and other social services. The CMOM After Dark event, benefiting them, is happening on March 31.
Develop HER Women’s Summit: This event also occurs on March 31 and benefits the Junior League of Memphis. The Junior League of Memphis has a mission to advance women’s leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration, and training.
We are thrilled to offer our support to further the work of these incredible organizations.
Each quarter, our Charitable Donation Committee meets to discuss and vote on all donation requests submitted to Adams Keegan since the previous meeting. The Committee is made up of employees who have won “Employee of the Year” from our employee-nominated Quarterly TEAM Awards. The Committee considers donation requests from employees for non-profits that are meaningful to them, as well as requests that come in from external sources.
