Colorado Sick Leave & Equal Pay Act Updates

The Colorado legislature has passed the Ensure Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, amending the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. The new rules, effective January 1, 2024, will impose new obligations to post job opportunities and the corresponding wage information. Colorado, which requires employers to offer up to 48 hours of paid sick leave to their employees, has now revised the Healthy Families & Workplaces Act to include bereavement and certain inclement weather situations as additional reasons employees are allowed to use their accrued paid sick leave.
