California Pay Data Reporting
California pay data reporting is required for employers with 100 or more total employees and at least one California employee. The deadline to file is May 13, 2026. The report must include pay, demographic, and other workforce data. Adams Keegan will handle California pay data reporting for our clients that were on board for the current reporting year (2025).
Note that California will be utilizing Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) codes as part of this process starting with reporting year 2026 (that will be filed next year, in early 2027). As such, clients of Adams Keegan will need to go to the Payrate/Position tab of Efficenter and select the appropriate SOC code for their California-based employees moving forward. Starting on February 16, this field will be required when onboarding a new California-based employee, and also when making any edits to an existing California employee’s Payrate/Position tab. This SOC information will help ensure timely reporting for our clients when next year’s reporting window opens.
