Multi-Factor Authentication is coming to Efficenter® on September 2. Below are some frequently asked questions about MFA.
What
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is an extra layer of security that requires not only a username and password but also an additional level of authentication to verify the user. MFA is easy to use and is one of the most effective means of controlling who can safely access Efficenter data.
Why
We are strengthening the security of our technology systems while minimizing the impact on you. Multi-Factor Authentication provides a much stronger assurance that your information is only accessible to the intended people.
How
When Multi-Factor Authentication is live on September 2 and you log in to Efficenter, you will have the option to turn on MFA for your Efficenter account. To use MFA with Efficenter, you must have a mobile phone and be able to receive text messages. To opt-in to MFA, you will need to provide your mobile number. After you have successfully signed up for MFA, your login process will include an additional verification step. After you enter your correct user name and password, you will receive a six-digit code on your phone (messaging rates may apply). Enter this code in Efficenter to complete the log-in process. If you do not receive a six-digit code on your phone, click on "get another one" or "receive it by email" at the bottom of the verification screen. "Get another one" will send a new verification code to the number shown on the screen. "Receive by email" will send a new verification code to the email address shown on the screen.
Who
Multi-Factor Authentication is available for all Efficenter users.
When
On September 2, when a user logs into Efficenter, a wizard will appear explaining Multi-Factor Authentication. The user will have the option to turn on MFA for their account.
Where
Multi-Factor Authentication is available at www.adamskeegan.com/efficenter. MFA is not available when clocking in using the Efficenter web-based time clock or Efficenter mobile time clock.

Additional Details
If you would like to change your Multi-Factor Authentication settings after setting it up, go to the My Info tab of Efficenter, click on My Account and select the Multi-Factor Authentication tab. Here you can opt-in or out of MFA, change your mobile number, or turn on "trust this device." When "trust this device" is turned on, Efficenter will remember the device. The next time you log into Efficenter, the system will know it is you and you will not be required to enter a verification code. Clearing your browser data or using a different browser or computer will trigger MFA when it is turned on in Efficenter. To change your e-mail address in Efficenter, go to My Info and click on Personal Info.
